TV REVIEW: Forever Episode 119 “Punk is Dead”

Jo and Isaac go on a date to punk club where a body is discovered in the wall. The body belongs to woman that disappeared 20 years ago. The case reminds Henry of the disappearance if his wife Abigail.

Jo and Isaac’s dates seem to turn into cases a bit to often. It does not seemed destined to work out. I suppose that was a given, though.

This isn’t the best episode of the show. I wouldn’t put it in my top 5 episodes but its not bad. The casting of the middle aged Abe is spot on.

We get some interesting insight into Henry’s personality. We see more of how little he notices Abigail’s aging and how little he notices or cares about how anyone around them react to their perceived age difference. Its sweet. But he also doesn’t seem to be aware of how much it bothered Abigail and that’s less sweet.

Its nice to see that Henry DOES remember how to be charming. Which he demonstrated when he flirts with a woman at a club to get a DNA sample off of the side of her face. Even with the dominatrix (that he totally should still be dating) he didn’t exactly flirt like this.

We also get more detail about Abigail’s disappearance. An event only hinted at previously. There is a little cliffhanger at the end that hints at more details to be revealed later on. I’m really not sure exactly what could be so mysteriously about Abigail. She would surely be dead by now. Unless she isn’t…that would be interesting. As would her having some connection to the elusive Adam.

There are only 3 episodes left. So, whatever they’re building up to lets hope it pays off big. As far as I know the show isn’t renewed for a second season, yet.

Forever airs on Tuesdays at 10pm on ABC
