Book Review: Quarter Life Poetry by Samantha Jayne

So, I wasn’t sure what to expect going into this book. I originally thought it was actual modern verse poetry about topics young adults deal with. Reading the intro made me realize I probably was mistaken.

And sure enough, I was.

The book is comedic poetry. Each page is a four line rhyming poem. Most deal with dating, food, going out (or more often staying in), money (or lack there of). They’re short, amusing and to the point.

The intro says this makes a good bathroom book I can definitely see that. Also, a good book to read in a waiting room.

It is light-hearted and, while sarcastic and at times a little pessimistic, a enjoyable and quick read.

It is also apparently a blog. It seems a lot of bloggers are getting book deals now. Which is cool.

I had the kindle version. So, my illustrations were not in color but it would seem the ones on the blog and in the book actually are in color. So, that is probably good incentive to get the book in book form. It appears to be sold in most book stores and online book retailers. So, go check it out if it seems like a book you would enjoy.

*i received this book free from Netgalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.*
